A Painting of Six Geese (A Laying)

“Six Geese (A Laying)” is the sixth painting in the series celebrating the 12 Days of Christmas by releasing a new painting each of the first 12 days of December!  That’s right – halfway done!  This painting is acrylic on canvas panel and 5″x7″.

Did You Know?

  • The term goose applies specifically to a female while gander applies to a male.
  • A young goose/gander is called a gosling.
  • A group of geese on the ground is called a gaggle; when in flight they are a team, a skein or a wedge; and when they fly close together they are referred to as a plump.
  • Canadian Geese (like those in the painting) are native to the arctic and temperate regions of North American, however they are also found in Northern Europe on occasion.
It seems that this particular day is pretty uneventful when it come to the song.  Do you know any fun facts about geese?
