A Tradition of Hand-Painted Ornaments

Before we jump into today’s blog, I wanted to take a moment to remind you that the EARLY SHOPPER SALE happening in my holiday ornament shop ends tomorrow (Nov 30th)!  Enjoy 25% off your cart of 3 or more items.

**QUICK UPDATE: I realized that I had something going on in my shop so it was only showing 7 listings. It’s fixed now – there’s now 100+ ornaments to choose from.  I EXTENDED the sale out for this entire week so you didn’t miss out on the sale (extended through Dec 5th).

You can also find a selection of ornaments available in-person as part of the Holiday Art Market at the Arnot Art Museum in Elmira, New York.

About a decade ago, I started a tradition of hand-painting ornaments for family and friends.  It all started because I wanted to be able to give special gifts even though money was short at that time.  The ornaments went over well and I continued the tradition every year after.

Some years I created different designs, others I did one theme but individualized each depending on the recipients favorite colors or hobbies.  Once my nephews were born I added plastic ornaments for each of them so they could also enjoy hanging them on the tree even while little and not having to worry about dropping or breaking them.

I’ve included some pictures of the different ornaments throughout the years below.  It was fun to look back and see how they progressed!

The Tradition Expands

This is where I first started creating my glitter snowflake ornaments.  I’m thrilled that ornaments I’ve created can be a part of other families’ holiday traditions!  Some of my customers have asked me to add the year and/or names on their ornaments so that they make a special collectable gift each year.
