A Tradition of Hand-Painted Ornaments

About a decade ago, I started a tradition of hand-painting ornaments for family and friends.  It all started because I wanted to be able to give special gifts even though money was short at that time.  The ornaments went over well and I continued the tradition every year after.

Some years I created different designs, others I did one theme but individualized each depending on the recipients favorite colors or hobbies.  Once my nephews were born I added plastic ornaments for each of them so they could also enjoy hanging them on the tree even while little and not having to worry about dropping or breaking them.

I’ve included some pictures of the different ornaments throughout the years below.  It was fun to look back and see how they progressed!

The Tradition Expands

This is where I first started creating my glitter snowflake ornaments.  I’m thrilled that ornaments I’ve created can be a part of other families’ holiday traditions!  Some of my customers have asked me to add the year and/or names on their ornaments so that they make a special collectable gift each year.

If you’re looking for special ornaments to add to your tree or give as gifts, you can find them in-person upstairs in my spot at The Shoppes at Oldies But Goodies (10 Carpenter Road, Big Flats) OR online in my holiday etsy shop – LauraJaenGifts (with current USPS recommendations, please place orders by Dec 15th for delivery prior to Christmas).  I also have additional inventory if you’re looking for specific colors.

What's your favorite holiday tradition?
