2018 Summer Mosaic Dates & Info

Tickets are now available for Summer Mosaic 2018! – This is the project of 50 paintings of NY waterfalls that I am currently feverishly working on completing. 

What is Summer Mosaic?

Artists throughout the region create 50 small works (6” x 6”) using a single medium throughout the 50-piece series, in response to a theme of their choice. The exhibition is part of 171 Cedar Arts Center’s summer fundraiser.  This is a great time to start, or expand, your collections while supporting local artists and 171!

171 Cedar Arts is a non-profit organization based in Corning, New York that enriches the community through arts instruction, exhibiting today’s artists, and presenting live performances.  They offer classes in a variety of art forms – music, dance, visual arts, ceramics, culinary arts, language and more – for people of all ages and skill levels. 

This year’s Summer Mosaic includes 31 artists and 1,500 small artworks.

VIP RECEPTION - July 19

Enjoy an open bar, hors d’oeuvre, and music, as we open the exhibition. You’ll be among special guests who’ll be the first to make selections from 1,500 six-inch square artworks. Artwork sales begin at 5:30 PM. The first 50 guests receive fun gift-bags. VIP ticket holders are invited to return Friday for the Mosaic Bash.  Tickets $70ea

Mosaic Bash - July 20

Experience an evening surrounded by talented artists, inspired artwork, lively dancing, delicious food, and refreshing libations. Guests are encouraged to purchase remaining artwork from one of thirty regional artists. Food is complimentary and your first beverage is free.  Tickets $40ea

New Moon Sale - July 21 & 22

This event is free and open to the public. View and purchase any remaining artwork.

Tickets for the VIP Reception and Mosaic Bash can be purchased in person at 171 Cedar Arts Center via cash, check or card, or online via the link below. 

Options for Those Unable to Attend

While I would love to see you all there at the events, I understand that sometimes that may not be possible.  Luckily 171 has thought of you and has given an option for anyone that may want to purchase art from this series from throughout the corners of the country.  

PURCHASES BY NON-ATTENDEES:
I love that you’ve been following along in my journey and are interested in adding waterfalls painted by me to your collection!  You will need to follow the below steps in order to make sure that you are able to purchase your desired paintings (they start selling fast once 5:30 hits during the VIP event!).  

Step 1 – Purchase a $70 ticket for the VIP Reception via link above or by contacting 171 Cedar Arts via phone at (607)936-4647 with credit card number in advance of July 19 (non-refundable).  

Step 2 – Send Lynn Rhoda Dates the title and picture of the artwork(s) you want to purchase. THIS IS IMPORTANT because staff will pull these specific art selections off the wall at 5:30 PM when VIP Reception sales begin, no earlier.

Step 3 – Get excited!  171 is able to ship the paintings to you (shipping costs will apply), if local you can pick up at a later date, or have a friend pick up and deliver your purchases!
