It’s been a little bit since the last update, but I’ve been hard at work spending time each day in the studio. Here’s what I’ve worked on for days 62 through 80 of the 100 Day Project. If you’re not familiar with the 100 Day Project or want to take a look at the previous days, check out my recent blog posts.
During this time I finished my newest Sketchy Tree drawing that I had just started during last update. This one is a different spot than the other drawings in this series. This one is from Bucktail Falls up towards Syracuse near Otisco Lake. (You can check out my blog post about Bucktail Falls here).
The other main project I worked on in the last couple of weeks is this wood slice painting. Here’s a snapshot of the process (I missed a few of the beginning steps since I started the prep work last summer). This is of one of the beautiful waterfalls from Cascadilla Gorge in Ithaca, NY. I’m excited how it came out! What do you think? Do you think I should do more wood slice paintings?
Remember the bookmarks I made last month? Squeal helped photograph them and they’re now available in my new kofi shop!
A couple of quick random sketches this past week too – the first is of peonies from a past garden, the other is a mermaid from a drawing challenge with art friends.
And… I also prepped for my next Sketchy Tree drawing. I have a couple more drawings that I want to get done this next month for my upcoming show in July.
You can follow along real time over on social media!
We’re now getting towards the end of the project! Are you participating in the 100 Day Project this year too? I’d love to know what your project is and follow along!
